Saturday at the Park:Just for Dogs

Saturdays used to be the dull day. The day when a few new dogs came to play and check out the place. The day when it was a little boring to hang out and we would do some cleaning. So we added some playtime to make it more "busy". Well, careful what you wish for. Last weekend we had to turn some people away from open play due to the amount of dogs on the floor. We have a limit. I know, you are thinking, what is your limit? It seems like many more dogs are on the floor during the week.

So here's how it breaks down. We can have many dogs on the floor and only have one or two handlers. It's not the dogs that are the issue, it's their owners. Having extra humans on the floor with the dogs is where the added level of confusion. See, when your dog comes to BrightDogs for day care, they know WE are in charge. But at home YOU are in charge (you hope). So now it's like having 2 sets of parents in the same room each telling them what to do and what may be unacceptable at home - is OK at BDDP. See the confusion?

Realizing this, we have evaluated our current service of having open play on Saturday when day care dogs are present and after careful consideration, have decided that too many parents on the floor isn't good for the dogs. The Day Care dogs are confused and the play dogs are not getting to have as much fun. So please, join us on Sunday morning for open play. It really is better for everyone, but mostly your dog.

Please let us know how you feel about our decision! Text us or message us via Facebook or comment on this post!
